CROWNS

Dr. Apter may recommend a crown (sometimes referred to as a "dental cap") to restore the strength, function, comfort and appearance of a tooth. They can be used in cases of fracture, decay, weak large fillings, root canal treatment, or unattractive appearance.

Dr. Apter will prepare the tooth and take an impression to send to the laboratory, where the crown will be made out of porcelain, gold alloy or a combination of both. Dr. Apter will cement the crown into place, so that it fully covers the visible portion of the tooth.
